Amanda and Austin's Mountain Elopement

Updated: Apr 27, 2020

Memories made in the mountains stay in our hearts forever. And that is exactly why Amanda and Austin decided to exchange vows in Ouray County last summer with the San Juan Mountain Range as their backdrop.

Amanda, her mother, and soon to be mother-in-law enjoyed each other's company while getting ready at a local salon. And her grandmother was there in spirit. Amanda took a blue silk flower from her grandmother's wedding dress and wore it in her hair.

The bride then traveled, gaining 2000 feet in elevation, to meet her groom at a beautiful overlook where Mount Sneffels awaited them.

The couple kept it an intimate affair. Just their parents witnessed their self solemnization at 8,000 feet. They held each other's hands while a sweet exchange was swept away by a mountain breeze.

Afterwards, they celebrated with champagne and cake before heading back to historic Ouray, CO where they captured additional portraits in the mountains.
